Sizing a Rudraksha bracelet accurately requires measuring exact wrist circumference and accounting for bead bulk. Because natural Rudraksha beads are spherical and raised, larger bead diameters add 1.5 cm to 2.5 cm to the outer bracelet ring, making standard flat jewelry sizing measurements inaccurate.

Step 1: Measure your wrist circumference

Use a flexible tailor measuring tape or a plain strip of paper.

1. Wrap the measuring tape flat around your wrist bone where you normally wear bracelets. 2. Note the exact measurement in centimeters or inches without pulling the tape tight. 3. If using paper or string, wrap it snugly around your wrist, mark the overlap point with a fine pen, and lay it flat against a ruler.

Standard adult wrist circumferences in India range from 15 cm (small) to 19 cm (large).

Step 2: Add bead diameter allowance

Spherical beads sit away from the skin. The larger the bead diameter, the more inner circumference you lose.

  • Small Beads (6mm to 10mm): Add 1.0 cm to 1.5 cm to your wrist measurement.
  • Medium Beads (12mm to 14mm): Add 1.5 cm to 2.0 cm to your wrist measurement.
  • Large / Collector Beads (16mm to 20mm): Add 2.0 cm to 2.5 cm to your wrist measurement.

For example, if your wrist measures 16.5 cm and you choose 14mm Rudraksha beads, your target inner bracelet size should be 18.5 cm for a comfortable fit that moves smoothly without pinching.

Elastic cord vs wire-capped sizing

Elastic stretch bracelets offer 1 cm to 1.5 cm of comfortable flex. Choose a snug fit that stays centered on the wrist without leaving deep skin indentations.

Silver or copper wire-capped bracelets have fixed lengths with metallic lobster clasps. Always include a 1.5 cm extension chain when ordering custom wire-framed Rudraksha bracelets to allow easy single-handed fastening.
